They called from their Sydney office and was told that for this particular model, is a 32-bit Vista Home Premium OS pre-loaded on my laptop. I have finally manged to get the correct information from HP.
But as mentioned above, it would be good to use what you have.
The speed and performance of this laptop on a 32 bit OS is pretty good. I run Virtual Machines on this laptop for test and training and to be able to use the full amount of RAM would allow me to run virtual machines very comfortably, without getting errors that your system is low on memory.

The only reson to install a 64 bit OS is to use all 4 GB of RAM. Currently, only 3.2 GB (approx.) is used. I have 4 GB RAM installed on this laptop.
